Your Wildest Dreams Revealed Series #9: Symbols and Symbolism

Your Wildest Dreams Revealed Series #9: Symbols and Symbolism

You have sent me many dream questions and I’ve been waiting for a rainy day to answer them. Well, it’s raining. So, I’ve shut off my cell phone and hung the Do Not Disturb sign I “permanently borrowed” from a hotel room on my door. In order to answer them all, I’ve created a dream series because I believe that by reading the answers to the dreams of others we enrich our waking-life. Each section in the series will focus on answering your dream questions.

Today, your wildest dream questions are my main priority.

Your Question: Are symbols and symbolism the same to everyone in every dream? Is there a trick to using a Dream Dictionary?

Although World renowned Psychiatrists Dr. Freud and Dr. Jung used Universal Archetypes present in dreams to see into the minds of their patients to better treat them, dream worlds are unique to the dreamer. In fact, your dream world is as unique to you as your fingerprints or DNA. What is frightening to one dreamer may be enlightening to another. Take the example of a large snake in a dream. It may be frightening to someone with a fear of snakes but may be the Kundalini to others more familiar with spiritual symbolism- the ultimate rising spiritual wisdom. If it is a rattle-snake it may mean there is a warning in the wisdom, “Don’t tread here,” just like the Texas state motto. Sometimes the symbolism can be a play on words.

Therefore, although dream dictionaries are usually based on universal archetypes and helpful, they can also be limiting. Learning your own dream language is the best way to interpret your dreams. I call it learning your Alice in Wonderland “Jabberwocky Talk.” Nonsense words (perhaps based on jabber) coined by Lewis Carroll, for the poem of the same name, which he published in “Through the Looking-Glass.” You hear the words and see the pictures but they don’t make sense until you learn your dream language.

Remember; just like any other foreign language, practice makes perfect.

If you still would like to check your personal definition of something in your dream against a dream dictionary do a search for “dream dictionary” using your favorite search engine, and pick one that appeals to you. You can also get one in print from your bookstore or order it online.

Dream dictionaries work just like regular dictionaries: you look up the symbol from your dream that you want to learn more about, and it gives you some background on what that symbol might mean for you.

As the dreamer becomes more in tune with their inner-guidance, they will learn their own dream language just as I learned mine. In my book SURVIVING CANCERLAND: The Intuitive aspects of Healing, I take dreams from my dream journal and show the reader exactly how to underline important words, figure out their meaning according to their context in the dream in order to understand the dream message.

I hope this helps to answers your incredible dream questions. Ask me anything in the comment box.

Your Wildest Dreams Revealed Series #8: Recurrent Dreams/Nightmares

Your Wildest Dreams Revealed Series #8: Recurrent Dreams/Nightmares

You have sent me many dream questions and I’ve been waiting for a rainy day to answer them. Well, it’s raining. So, I’ve shut off my cell phone and hung the Do Not Disturb sign on my door that I “permanently borrowed” from a hotel room. In order to answer them all, I’ve created a dream series because I believe that by reading the answers to the dreams of others we enrich our waking-life. Each section in the series will focus on answering your dream questions.

Today, your wildest dream questions are my main priority.

Your Question: Can you give me an example of a Lucid Dream? I have a friend who is taking classes on becoming a Lucid Dreamer? Why are Lucid Dreams so special? Can you have a Lucid Dream without trying to?

Yes, you can have a Lucid Dream without trying to.

Here is an example of a Recurring Dream that was also a Lucid Healing Dream. Dreams can overlap.

A client was distraught because she kept having a recurring nightmare that would wake her during the night and leave her in a bad mood all day. And since she was always aware that she was having the nightmare it was also Lucid. She would be in an epic dream sitting in her living room watching reality TV when suddenly there would be a knock on the door. As her husband moved to answer the door she would yell, “No! Don’t answer the door.” Her husband would open the door and her deceased father would walk into the room and say, “I love you.” This would jolt her from the dream with a scream and leave her upset for the rest of the day because she and her father did not have a good relationship while he was alive.

I told her the next time she had this nightmare, to tell her father that she loved him, too, hug him and that the nightmare would stop and her life would be changed, forever. This was an opportunity to heal her past in order to move into an emotionally healthy future.

“I can’t do that,” she said, “I don’t love him. In fact, I can’t stand him. He was mean to me.”

“Somewhere in your subconscious Daddy’s Little Girl still loves him and needs to express herself and accept his love,” I said. “Your father has had time to consider the error of his ways when he was alive and is asking to make amends. We know he is asking permission because he is knocking on your Sacred Dream Door, not opening it himself and walking back into your life. Your husband, whom you always refer to as your-better-half, invites your father into the living room, or the room of the living. Your husband is also the strong fearless aspect of yourself. ”

The next night she had the same nightmare but this time…. “When there was the knock on the door I told my husband I would get it. When my father walked into the room and said, I love you,” I don’t know what happened to me but I threw my arms around his neck and said, ‘Oh, Daddy, I love you too’ and the dream shifted without me waking up.

She followed my counsel, felt wonderful when she woke up, and never had the nightmare again.

With a simple hug of love she changed the ending of a lucid nightmare into a healing dream that transformed her life forever.

Our family members challenge us the most in our life because they are our teachers, and they are humans who make mistakes. During difficult times they are given permission to return from “the other side” to give us guidance and love.

I hope this helps to answers your incredible dream question. Ask me anything in the comment box.

Your Wildest Dreams Revealed Series #7: The Most Common Dreams

Your Wildest Dreams Revealed Series #7: The Most Common Dreams

You have sent me many dream questions and I’ve been waiting for a rainy day to answer them. Well, it’s raining. So, I’ve shut off my cell phone and hung the Do Not Disturb sign I “permanently borrowed” from a hotel room on my door. In order to answer them all, I’ve created a dream series because I believe that by reading the answers to the dreams of others we enrich our dream life. Each section in the series will focus on answering your dream questions.

Today, your wildest dream questions are my main priority.

Your Question- What are the most common dreams that people have?

I find that most dreams fall into these 7 categories, and these categories can overlap.

•   Daydreams- when you are awake but no longer focused on a task. This can also happen during meditation, and prayer. Your mind begins to wander and ends up in an area filled with spiritual guides or a place full of information.

•   Lucid dreams– you know you are dreaming while in the dream-state. What makes this dream so amazing is that you can learn to return to the lucid dream to control the outcome and change your life in a positive manner.

•   Nightmares– who can forget that information? But our nightmares can be blessings in disguise. Nightmares are often a call to action that refuses to be ignored. It is easy to forget a sweet dream, but who can forget a frightening nightmare? The other purpose of a nightmare may be to awaken you at a strategic place in the dream that holds an answer to the crisis.

•   Recurring- because you didn’t get it the first time or solve it yet. When you have the same dream over-and-over it is telling you to keep working on the meaning or the solution.

•   Healing-emotional or physical information. A healing dream may contain a recipe for life or you may connect with your Spirit-guides or Guardian angels for life-saving information.

•   Prophetic- comes true and can be validated by scientific tests or life events. Watch for the validation in your waking world. Validation is the key.

•   Epic– like an entertaining storybook you pick up and continue while sleeping. The only thing missing is the popcorn. Enjoy!

Within those groups are many subgroups. An example would be precognitive dreams that are also in the subgroup of shamanic. Many dream groups can overlap. An example might be a lucid nightmare (meaning you are aware of the fact that you are dreaming) that is also precognitive (comes true with validations in the waking world) and is healing (causes positive emotional or physical change in you).

I hope this helps to answers your incredible dream question. Ask me anything in the comment box.

Sophia’s Wisdom in the Shifting Dreams of Alzheimer’s (AUDIO)

Sophia’s Wisdom in the Shifting Dreams of Alzheimer’s (AUDIO)

dream small

Quote:” The Son of Man agreed with Sophia, his consort and revealed himself in a [great light] as bisexual. His male nature is called ‘the Saviour, the begetter of all things’, but his female “Sophia, mother of all’, whom some call Pistis” (Hennecke 1963,250).

Affirmation: Today I will honor myself and embrace all aspects of myself.

Are you ready to co-create a resilient, equitable and spiritually fulfilling future for humanity in community with the Earth?

Being spiritually fulfilled does not mean adapting to any specific creed or religion, but rather embracing a sense of connectedness—of oneness with the universe. Two amazing people, Merry and Burl Hall tell us how they do it, despite living with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Merry and Burl Hall

To listen to this episode, click here or Picture Above.

Burl Benson Hall is very open about his life with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was kind enough to share insights into this challenge which he embraces as part of his life-wisdom. Burl’s wife Merideth ( Merry) Hall lives her nameshe is one of the merriest people I have ever interviewed.

Burl is an author, philosopher (lover-of-Sophia), mystic, and retired counsellor. He writes with the editorial assistance of his muse and wife, Merry Stetson Hall, a retired teacher.

“I am Grandmerry Hall, a name given me by my grandchildren. During my 70 years of life, I have been a teacher, mother, grandmother, author, editor, care-giver, end-of-life mentor, and radio show co-host of Envision This connecting online listeners to visionaries. Folks tell me I embody “The Mother” archetype and Sophianic wisdom. This description humbles me and also moves me to offer my counsel as an Elder.”

Merry and Burl Hall are authors, co-hosts, and co-editors from Sabattus, Maine. What makes this team so amazing is the fact that Burl has Alzheimer’s, but he is quick to tell you he does not suffer from it. He simply exists with it, and embraces the daily lessons it teaches him. Merry is the loveof-his-life, Rock-of-Gibraltar, and editor of the books they create together.

During this interview Burl shared with listeners how having Alzheimer’s is much like “living in a constantly shifting dream where everything is only now. There is no past or future; only the big NOW. The insights Burl shares with listeners is absolutely astounding because he is never remorseful, or feels victimized, only grateful for the wonderful productive life he is still leading.

Their vision is to share with you, the listener, with Gaia, and with many, a vision of a healthy Earth and humane culture where our descendants and fellow creatures can thrive and flourish.

Merry and Burl explain how their mission is to co-create a resilient, equitable and spiritually fulfilling future for humanity in community with the Earth. “By spiritually fulfilling, we do not mean to adapt to any specific creed or religion. Rather, we mean a sense of connectedness—of oneness with the universe, our loved ones, our ancestors and posterity, and within ourselves. We are awakening the realization that we belong to the cosmic All.”

As a three time breast cancer survivor whose dreams diagnosed my illness, I was astounded by the information Burl shared with his doctor to get the correct treatment for Alzheimer’s.

Listen to the answer Burl received from the medical community in the interview.

Merry and Burl Hall are the authors of SOPHIAS WEB: A PASSIONATE CALL TO HEAL OUR WOUNDED NATURE. Merry explains, “Sophia’s Web encourages you to discover how you can co-create individual, planetary and universal health. It also examines Burl Hall’s individual dreams, visions, passions, and missions, in the light of the Wisdom shared by great thinkers in all disciplines.

SOPHIAS WEB is calling out for you to become part of the healing of the Earth, all of nature, humankind, society, and yourself. Healing the wounded nature of humankind and the Earth is a primary mission of the 21st Century. It’s on the minds of millions; it’s on our minds; and it’s on yours. That is why we wrote SOPHIAS WEB and why we are hoping you will read it. In Sophia’s Web, Burl takes the reader with him ever deeper into the heart of Divine Wisdom.

On the radio show Burl and Merry discuss how:

  • Sophia’s Web is the saga of Hall’s journey from fleeting visions of Sophia in childhood to a mature, surrendered embrace of the Sacred Feminine which now underpins and informs his life, his work, and his connection with the earth community.
  • Burl’s primary belief, “is that the Goddess is the power by which all are born, maintained, and dissolved. It is she who weaves the entire web of life.”

Almost effortlessly Burl was able to acknowledge, at an early age, not only the feminine principle in the world but the feminine within himself. As with any male socialized within the context of industrial civilization, Burl experienced societal pressure to embrace the patriarchal perspective which prizes a way of life based on power and control. Yet, Sophia’s Web reveals a man who has moved through and beyond patriarchal programming to an integration of the feminine principle within himself, and who strives to apply Sophia’s wisdom in his life and work.

Rarely do we have the opportunity to hear an embodied male acknowledge what the author lays bare in this radio interview.

Together, we can co-create a more abundant future for our planet.

Burl Hall follows the thread within this web that connects his research in these fields to his personal mystical experience and dreams. “We are amazed by the opportunity the worldwide web offers us, a couple living on Social Security Disability and Social Security Retirement, to reach out to the world both through our writings and Sophia, the Spirit of Wisdom, which has woven the multi-dimensional aspects of our lives—personal, relational, cultural, intellectual, scientific, philosophical, and spiritual—into a cosmic web.”

Thank you, Burl and Merry Hall, for this rare insight into such a beautiful mind and loving heart.

Send A Holiday Card for a Soldier

The holiday season is a time for giving thanks and celebrating with the freedom of which We the People have become accustomed. For some, this freedom has come at a high price resulting in loss of limbs or worse. So, let’s be sure to thank the men and women of our armed forces who have put their lives on the line so that we may continue to freely celebrate the holidays.

One way to do this is with a card.

Due to heightened security, military hospitals are not accepting anything that is not specifically addressed to specific service personal. Cards, packages and gifts being returned or thrown in the trash. You can read more at http://www.snopes.com/politics/christmas/walterreed.asp.

Instead, the recommendation is to send mail through a program set up through The Red Cross:

As they have done in the past, for the 2015 holiday season the Red Cross and Pitney Bowes are sponsoring a “Holiday Mail for Heroes” program to distribute holiday cards to service members, a program that encompasses not just troops who are recovering in military hospitals but also service members stationed throughout the U.S. and abroad, as well as veterans and their families.

Well-wishers who would like to send Christmas (and other seasonal) cards to U.S. service members should address those cards as follows:

Holiday Mail for Heroes

PO Box 5456

Capitol Heights, MD

20791-5456

All cards must be postmarked no later than Friday, 6 December 2015 in order to ensure sufficient time for sorting and distribution before the holidays.

Read more at http://www.redcross.org/support/get-involved/holiday-mail-for-heroes

Thank you Red Cross for stepping up.
