In today’s climate of growing energy needs and increasing environmental concern, alternatives to non-renewable and polluting fossil fuels must be more available and more readily used.

With the improvements made over the last several years, solar can be the answer to your electric woes, more so than wind or hydro power.  The regulations and innovations that come together in the second half of this decade will set the stage for what the future of electricity in the US and elsewhere looks like.

Solar is Hot Hot Hot

More solar power capacity was installed in the US last year than natural-gas capacity. The solar market grew by 17% in 2015 alone. Individuals are boarding the solar train by the droves with the residential solar market growing 66% since 2009. California is Number 1 in solar installations followed by North Carolina and Nevada.

This is good news for those of us who firmly believe that clean air and the stability of the planet are things we desperately need.

Leonardo DiCaprio thinks so too!

2016 will be a banner year with new innovations and programs spurred on by the Clean Power Plan and the Paris Talks. 2016 is also a year were we’ll be seeing 5 new solar trends.

Additionally as a result of the Paris Talks, countries are developing their renewable plans working toward completion by 2020. Uganda has developed a solar bus. Rwanda is constructing rent-to-own solar systems for off-grid villages.

Morocco is building a $3.9 billion solar energy project that will be the size of Rabat.

And despite all the grumbling from individual states, solar energy projects are at the forefront as required by the Clean Power Plan.
