Living Hope- Steps to Leaving Suffering Behind

Living Hope- Steps to Leaving Suffering Behind

Could you still find joy in life if you had lost all the loved ones in your family to tragedy that included fire and murder? Lynne did and she is here to tell you how she is still Living Hope.

As an infant, Lynne Cockrum-Murphy survived a tragic house fire that claimed her father and two sisters and left her with severe burns over much of her body. She lived most of her life with a severely depressed and alcoholic mother, who shared with Lynne at five years old her thoughts of suicide. She lived through her stepfather being crushed to death in a logging accident and her mother being murdered in a bar-room robbery.

The only reason Lynne Cockrum-Murphy survived the fire is because her father carried her out first before running back in for her sisters, where they all perished.

Tragedy stuck three year old Lynne living in an idyllic family in Northern California.

Raised by a mother whose life was shattered by the tragedy, Lynne’s childhood was jolted again when her step-father died in a logging accident a few years later and culminates in the murder of her mother years later. That could have been the end of any hope of happiness, but it wasn’t. Living Hope follows life from those tragedies forward to today.

After all she has been through Lynne is radiantly happy and living a life of pure service to the world, don’t you think she can teach us a thing or two?

Lynne’s transcendent spirit knew there must be something better ahead.

Hear how Lynne endlessly searched for answers and with much time, trial and error, wise teachers, communal support, deep research and reading, and personal introspection….

She ultimately triumphed over her pain and suffering.

During Lynne Cockrum-Murphy’s interview on the Kathleen O’Keefe-Kanavos Show she shares how she found the steps to a joyful, deeply fulfilling life that includes a loving partner and a calling to help others. It’s those steps she interweaves in her book, Living Hope, as she tells her own remarkable story that takes her from surviving to thriving.

In Lynne’s case, instead of giving in to family dysfunction, she moved beyond the events of the past and writes about dealing with trauma, loss, abuse, family alcoholism and shows you there is a way to inner peace.

Listeners will discover how they can:

  • end the karma that has them on a hamster wheel of suffering.
  • escape the powerlessness that has them in its grip.
  • live through loss, poverty, depression and find the joy in their soul.
  • learn to trust –even after being betrayed and deceived.
  • make life-affirming decisions.
  • leave behind their “smallness” and rise into their greatness

What People are Saying about Lynn and her amazing work:

“In her memoir, Living Hope, Lynne Cockrum-Murphy shows that when we become more committed to our growth than we are to the pain caused by traumas in our lives, we truly open the door to healing ourselves and reaching our potential.” Becca Chopra, author of The Chakra Diaries

“Dr. Lynne’s story is one of hope and inspiration for suffers of PTSD and Traumatic Stress. I highly recommend both her book and consultation services, if you can get in to see her!” Kathy Mohr-Almeida, Ph.D., Traumatologist

“A must read for anyone seeking to shift their emotional pain to inner peace and emotional freedom.” Connie M. Leach, Ed.D. Career and Life Coach

Your Wildest Dreams Revealed Series #9: Symbols and Symbolism

Your Wildest Dreams Revealed Series #9: Symbols and Symbolism

You have sent me many dream questions and I’ve been waiting for a rainy day to answer them. Well, it’s raining. So, I’ve shut off my cell phone and hung the Do Not Disturb sign I “permanently borrowed” from a hotel room on my door. In order to answer them all, I’ve created a dream series because I believe that by reading the answers to the dreams of others we enrich our waking-life. Each section in the series will focus on answering your dream questions.

Today, your wildest dream questions are my main priority.

Your Question: Are symbols and symbolism the same to everyone in every dream? Is there a trick to using a Dream Dictionary?

Although World renowned Psychiatrists Dr. Freud and Dr. Jung used Universal Archetypes present in dreams to see into the minds of their patients to better treat them, dream worlds are unique to the dreamer. In fact, your dream world is as unique to you as your fingerprints or DNA. What is frightening to one dreamer may be enlightening to another. Take the example of a large snake in a dream. It may be frightening to someone with a fear of snakes but may be the Kundalini to others more familiar with spiritual symbolism- the ultimate rising spiritual wisdom. If it is a rattle-snake it may mean there is a warning in the wisdom, “Don’t tread here,” just like the Texas state motto. Sometimes the symbolism can be a play on words.

Therefore, although dream dictionaries are usually based on universal archetypes and helpful, they can also be limiting. Learning your own dream language is the best way to interpret your dreams. I call it learning your Alice in Wonderland “Jabberwocky Talk.” Nonsense words (perhaps based on jabber) coined by Lewis Carroll, for the poem of the same name, which he published in “Through the Looking-Glass.” You hear the words and see the pictures but they don’t make sense until you learn your dream language.

Remember; just like any other foreign language, practice makes perfect.

If you still would like to check your personal definition of something in your dream against a dream dictionary do a search for “dream dictionary” using your favorite search engine, and pick one that appeals to you. You can also get one in print from your bookstore or order it online.

Dream dictionaries work just like regular dictionaries: you look up the symbol from your dream that you want to learn more about, and it gives you some background on what that symbol might mean for you.

As the dreamer becomes more in tune with their inner-guidance, they will learn their own dream language just as I learned mine. In my book SURVIVING CANCERLAND: The Intuitive aspects of Healing, I take dreams from my dream journal and show the reader exactly how to underline important words, figure out their meaning according to their context in the dream in order to understand the dream message.

I hope this helps to answers your incredible dream questions. Ask me anything in the comment box.

Your Wildest Dreams Revealed Series #7: The Most Common Dreams

Your Wildest Dreams Revealed Series #7: The Most Common Dreams

You have sent me many dream questions and I’ve been waiting for a rainy day to answer them. Well, it’s raining. So, I’ve shut off my cell phone and hung the Do Not Disturb sign I “permanently borrowed” from a hotel room on my door. In order to answer them all, I’ve created a dream series because I believe that by reading the answers to the dreams of others we enrich our dream life. Each section in the series will focus on answering your dream questions.

Today, your wildest dream questions are my main priority.

Your Question- What are the most common dreams that people have?

I find that most dreams fall into these 7 categories, and these categories can overlap.

•   Daydreams- when you are awake but no longer focused on a task. This can also happen during meditation, and prayer. Your mind begins to wander and ends up in an area filled with spiritual guides or a place full of information.

•   Lucid dreams– you know you are dreaming while in the dream-state. What makes this dream so amazing is that you can learn to return to the lucid dream to control the outcome and change your life in a positive manner.

•   Nightmares– who can forget that information? But our nightmares can be blessings in disguise. Nightmares are often a call to action that refuses to be ignored. It is easy to forget a sweet dream, but who can forget a frightening nightmare? The other purpose of a nightmare may be to awaken you at a strategic place in the dream that holds an answer to the crisis.

•   Recurring- because you didn’t get it the first time or solve it yet. When you have the same dream over-and-over it is telling you to keep working on the meaning or the solution.

•   Healing-emotional or physical information. A healing dream may contain a recipe for life or you may connect with your Spirit-guides or Guardian angels for life-saving information.

•   Prophetic- comes true and can be validated by scientific tests or life events. Watch for the validation in your waking world. Validation is the key.

•   Epic– like an entertaining storybook you pick up and continue while sleeping. The only thing missing is the popcorn. Enjoy!

Within those groups are many subgroups. An example would be precognitive dreams that are also in the subgroup of shamanic. Many dream groups can overlap. An example might be a lucid nightmare (meaning you are aware of the fact that you are dreaming) that is also precognitive (comes true with validations in the waking world) and is healing (causes positive emotional or physical change in you).

I hope this helps to answers your incredible dream question. Ask me anything in the comment box.

Orgasm For Life? Inner Guidance and The Sacredness in Sex (AUDIO)

Orgasm For Life? Inner Guidance and The Sacredness in Sex (AUDIO)

Do you treat your body as your temple?

If you don’t love being alone with you, how can you expect anyone else

to? The more love we give to ourselves, the more emotionally available we become to

our partners and loved ones, the more fun, happiness and passion we share.

~ Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Jennifer learned early that some of our most profound experiences aren’t ones that are fun.

Not because they deliver treasures, jewels or joy, but because they teach us Inner-guidance and about ourselves!

A traumatic childhood set Jennifer on a thirty-year Inner-guidance healing journey that took her all around the world from Europe to India, Bali and all across the United States.

Jennifer has seized each moment and found sweetness in every breath.

She is a fearless woman who has done it all:

  • Ordained minister
  • Certified Love and Passion Coach
  • Flight attendant
  • Master Gardener
  • Business owner for 11 years- Landscape Design and installation (For Heaven Scapes)
  • Author,
  • Intuitive Energy Healer,
  • Hypnotherapist,
  • Mother of 3

As a Scorpio, Jennifer unabashedly says she has enjoyed sexual expression and now loves herself FEARLESSLY.

“I help women find deep intimacy and Sacredness in Sex by guiding them to lovingly accept themselves as they are.

As a guest on the Kathleen O’Keefe-Kanavos Radio Show (Posted at the bottom of this blog) Jennifer tells us how she survived crisis, answers questions and discusses indepth:

  • The biggest issue she sees women have with aging.
  • Why most women begin calling themselves old, or don’t like what they see in the mirror.
  • The secrets to Youthing, rather than aging.
  • How to combat menopause without prescriptions by embracing dance and regular sex. “Moving our body, hips with dance keeps our hormones working naturally.”

“If you feel young and think young, you will be young.”

During the interview linked below Jennifer shares and elaborates on her most important secrets to looking young:

1. Be loving to yourself and others. (Avoid negativity and complaining.)

2. Treat your body as your temple. (Eat clean, healthy exercise daily, but it must be the right kind of exercise. Avoid alcohol, smoking, taking Advil as long as possible.)

3. Be happy

Jennifer Elizabeth is also an author of Orgasm For Life.

Written from personal experience, Jennifer’s data was collected between the sheets. Her candid, honest style draws you into her bedroom sharing over 40 years of passion, experimentation and insight.

Jennifer has some very strong thoughts and solutions to surviving self-sabotage.

There are many ways that we self-sabotage our lives, relationships and success. The biggest one is saying, “I can’t do _________ “ fill in the blank. We have all done it at one time or another. One of the things I teach is moving beyond I Can’t.” Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Orgasm For Life? Inner Guidance and The Sacredness in Sex (AUDIO)

Shut My Mouth! It's a Dinner Fit for the Dead.

No! We are not talking about feeding Zombies or Vampires. A Dumb Supper is a serious meal meant for ghosts; your passed-over-loved-ones to be exact. A traditional Dumb Supper is served on all Hollow’s Eve in your home and on a plate at your table. It often begins at midnight with a prayer of thanksgiving, is shrouded in complete respectful silence, and culminates in a celebration of spirits. The Dumb Supper is an ancient tradition where the dead attend the living for a magical night of communion.

Dinning with the dead is another way of saying, “I love you.

A Dumb Supper is a bridge between the living and the dead built with love and traversed by loved-ones. It is a centuries old tradition with roots in Europe and branches in America.

We understand the concept of death as spirit leaving the body. But, what about the idea of spirits returning for dinner?

We regularly show our love for the deceased by talking to them at their place of burial, taking gifts of flowers, lighting candles for them in our places of worship, and displaying their pictures as a token of our enduring love. On the anniversary of their passing we have moments of silence, song, and food where we live, work, and pray.

So, is setting a place for the dead at our dinner table going too far?

Those who practice the Dumb Supper on All Hallows’ Eve don’t think so. The Dumb Supper is a reverent event that discourages conversation of any kind.

Dumb Supper literally means quiet meal—mum’s the word–Shhh!

Silence during the meal is of the utmost importance, therefore electronics and motors that beep, buzz or squeak are turned off or unplugged. This includes television sets, refrigerators and freezers. No cell phones, notepads or computers are permitted in the dining area during the dinner.

These special meals take place on Samhain, October 31st which is Halloween or All Hallows Eve,

also known as Halloween and All Saints’ Eve; the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows’ Day.

It is also a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries. This practice, celebrated worldwide, is one of the largest gatherings at the Festival of the Dead in Salem, Massachusetts.

Why would the veil between the living and the dead be thinner on Halloween day than any other? Because, intention powered by the flame of love is a powerful tool.

Perhaps Collective Intention empowered through prayer and meditation, can literally pull aside the curtain of death so the dead can once again share time and space in the land of the living in the form of a spiritual supper.

Here is how the Dumb Supper works.

The evening opens with a blessing where each attendee is guided through the veil between the worlds to the realms of the dead where no one living may speak.

After the family meal is cooked, the table is set with an empty place setting filled with food. In keeping with tradition, the courses of The Dumb Supper are served backwards and the placement of everything down to the silverware is reversed as a means of weaving participants into the shadowy world of spirit. Rather than starting the meal with soup and salad, it begins with desert. It almost begs the question, “Is this an example of the saying, ‘Life is short, so eat desert first.’” Soup and salad are served at the end of the dinner, much like European dinning customs.

The extra setting is for dead family ancestors to come and enjoy a meal with living family members.

Photographs of the deceased are often placed on the table as an invitation; a spirituality and metaphysical first step in manifesting a desired outcome.

So, rather than mourning the deceased, let’s celebrate their memory, and see who comes to dinner, because love is something you can take with you to the-other-side. And, under certain circumstances, like an invitation to a Dumb Supper, love may bring family members back from the dead, to break bread with the living.
