Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come. ~ Robert H. Schuller.
Our mission or life purpose is much like kittens and puppies. They often choose us. Adjusting our life to accommodate these changes can be stormy, challenging, uncomfortable, and at times downright painful, but the lessons learned from the choices are a big part of our soul’s journey.
Dr. Terry Gordoknows a thing or two about storms because he has survived a few in his lifetime. Emotional tornadoes knocked him over but could not keep him down. Terry, as he prefers to be called, is a Hay House author who penned, “No Storm Lasts Forever,” the forward of which is written by the late great Dr. Wayne Dyer.
One of Dr. Terry Gordon’s missions in life has been saving the lives of our most precious resource, our children. After the tragic cardiac death of Josh Miller, a 15 year old football player, Terry helped to raise funds to place automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in every junior and high school in his community. For his efforts, the American Heart Association named him the National Physician of the Year 2002. He is a retired Invasive Cardiologist, Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio.
What is an AED and what do they do?
An AED is an Automated External Defibrillator. It restarts the heart once it has stopped beating. Heart attacks are not only for the elderly. They happen to children and young adults, too.
In the past few years, there have been more and more occurrences of students getting hit in the chest during sporting events and going into cardiac arrest. Although accidents do happen during sports a heart attack can be prevented if an AED is present and within reach at the event.
Had an AED been present at the time of Josh Miller’s football accident he might still be alive.
Josh Miller’s accident hit so close to home for Dr. Terry Gordon that he and his family raised enough money to place an AED in every school and every police car in his hometown.
AEDs are extremely necessary in police vehicles because police are usually the first people to reach an emergency scene.
“These AED devices in cop cars have already saved several lives, young and old.” Terry is proud to announce. However, Dr. Terry Gordon’s intentions are bigger than local. His next step is to take the AED to a national level.
“Might as well save as many lives as possible,” Terry says.
If you agree please help by sharing this article with your local schools, parents, police force and anyone who would like to see their loved ones live a long and prosperous life, because their future may only be one heartbeat away from an Automated External Defibrillator.
It is said that the fruit seldom falls far from the tree. This is never more evident than by the description written by Terry’s daughter of her father. Mattie-Rose is an experienced educator in grades Kindergarten through 12, so she has been involved in her father’s mission to save the lives of students. As an Executive Business Administrative Assistant, Mattie-Rose also knows the business side of making dreams come true. Mattie-Rose Gordon writes,
“I have been blessed to have a father who has shown what it means to care and love for others so deeply. Cardiology was his profession but his genuine heart, his love, and the incredible strength my dad possesses; evident each time there’s a storm that comes his way and each time he takes the lessons he’s learned through his experience. He has taught me the most valuable lessons in my life, will always remain my hero, and will be the person I strive to be.”
As a physician who has dealt with life and death on a daily basis, Terry understands that life is precious and can change in an instant. He and his family experienced first-hand such a dramatic shift when his son Tyler was involved in an automobile accident, sustaining a severe spinal cord injury that has left him paralyzed.
When asked about his feelings concerning such tragedies in life Dr. Terry Gordon says, “I learned that when adversity comes our way, it is how we respond to the difficulty that determines who we become. Life experiences become calamities only if we make the conscious decision to make tragedies out of them. Rather than lamenting so-called adversities, we can choose to be grateful for them. We can embrace them and accept them as gifts from the Divine. They can provide fertile soil for growth and enlightenment.”
Dr. Terry Gordon led his family through the storm and the journey has resulted in a spiritual awakening to a clearer understanding of life, the truths it has to offer one of which is, no matter how big, how severe, or how painful, “No Storm Lasts Forever.”

When we lose a limb we experience phantom body pain. When we lose a part of our spirit we experience phantom soul pain. They both hurt!” Kathleen O’Keefe-Kanavos
If you have “hit bottom” you are in a perfect place to begin again because there is nothing left to hold you back or keep you down. As cohost with Kelly Sullivan Walden of the radio show Dreams Unzipped it is my pleasure to discuss tips with you and share tales of Tears to Triumph offered by world-renowned guest Marianne Williamson.
When you were a child you may have had physical growing pains. Expanding limbs can create cramps, and aches. As adults, we forget that as long as there is life, there is growth even when the growing pains are of a different sort; emotional.
A child’s arms weighted down with precious toys are replaced by mature hearts overburdened with life.
We loved our childhood toys and when one disappeared we felt as though we had lost a piece of ourselves. A toy slept with and lost becomes so traumatic it may change sleep patterns. A lost adult relationship can do the same thing.
On the way to our adult “toy box” it is not unusual to lose something that brings us to tears. We suffer emotional phantom pain. So, how can we move from tears to triumph?
Mirror therapy used to help alleviate phantom limb pain from amputation can be modified to reestablish a connection with self to find the lost pieces of our life.
Mirror Box Therapy is an occupational therapy invented by Vilayanur S. Ramachandran that is comprised of a mirror box in which two mirrors in the center (one facing each way) helps alleviate phantom limb pain, in which patients feel they still have an amputated limb.
How can similar therapies treat dissimilar ailments when one is physical and the other is emotional?
Modified Mirror therapy discussed in detail during the radio show is a method to find and reconnect with what is truly important in life- you. It is an emotional therapeutic technique to reassess your priorities. It is difficult to ignore yourself or embellish on the truth when you are looking yourself in the eye. What a great way to get to know yourself better.
When a part of our spirit is lost we experience phantom soul pain. Journaling is a means of measurement. How will you know how far you have improved if you don’t know where you are right now? You may be pleasantly surprised when you read your journal and discover you are improved.
Like Mirror Box therapy the goal of Modified Mirror therapy is to reestablish a connection with self through the windows of your soul; your eyes. Using any mirror accomplishes this goal and is easy enough to do daily in the privacy of your home.
The next time you look in the mirror while brushing your teeth, combing your hair or getting dressed take thirty-seconds to look deeply into your eyes. Then, ask and answer these three questions:
1.) When was I the happiest in my life? When you feel joy from that memory of that moment you have found what was lost.
2.) What can I do to reestablish that happiness in my life now? If you feel excitement from the question you are reestablishing the connection by formulating a plan.
3.) How can I keep that joy safe? The answer to this question is an emotional protection mechanism. Once implemented it will help keep your love safe.
Ask your own questions. Modified mirror therapy is a bit like stepping through the Looking Glass into Alice’s Wonderland. If you look in the mirror and dare to ask, “How far down this darned rabbit hole filled with tears do I have to go?” Don’t be surprised if a voice from behind the windows of your soul answers, “How far down do you want to go? It’s your journey.”
The more truthful you are with yourself the quicker your will find your missing parts and the tears will turn to triumph.

The Kat & Shiela Show (8/26/’16)
CLICK TO WATCH: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9DerXsspdI
The weirdest things have happen during the retrograde that should have ended on September 22nd. Lights continue to flicker on and off, and anything that is mechanical or electronic is out of sync, like The Kat Kanavos Show, and the Kat and Sheila Shows. Everyone looks like they are in a translated Japanese movie where actors lips move five seconds after you hear their words. But, scientists claim it is difficult to prove retrograde really affects electronics, unless you are the recipient of the electronic scramble. There are other things in this world that are difficult to prove, yet many of us know they exist like Bigfoot.
Is Sasquatch real, folklore or mythology? This giant, illusive, bipedal humanoid and extremely hairy creature, roughly 2-3 meters or 6 foot 7 to 9 foot 10 inches in height, goes by many names depending on the part of the world in which it was seen. Have you seen a Wild Man? No, not the drunk one dancing beside you at the bar. The giant one in the forest.
The term sasquatch is a anglicized derivative of the Halkomelem word sásq’ets from the language of the various First Nations peoples in British Columbia. The Native American coast tribe known as Lhaq’temish, that means the People of the Sea, and governed by the Lummi Nation in western Washington State in the United States, refer to Sasquatch as Seatco, or the Ancient Ones. In Florida Big Foot is called Skunk Ape, and in Eastern Canada it is called Misaabe, in other forested areas of the United States it is called Hairy Man or Wild Man. And, all the descriptions of Sasquatch are surprisingly similar. Individuals who claim to have seen Bigfoot describe its “large eyes.”
Each language from a different area of the world had its own name for this allusive creature featured in the local legends. Many names described common actions it is said to perform like “Eats Clams.” Could this be similar to the description often used by us to describe someone from the Northeast as “Meat and Potatoes” or someone from Wisconsin as a “Cheese Head?”
If scientists discount the existence of Bigfoot due to a lack of evidence, how can something with so many names, stretching back so many centuries, on so many continents except Antarctica, and in different places throughout the world be a fairytale, myth or imagination? And, where is the scientific evidence for angels or life after death?
During the Kat and Sheila Show, Sheila Sistar shares her personal experiences this past weekend at the International Psych and Spiritual Sasquatch Conference in North East Washington. This conference is home to real-life Bigfoot experiencers. During the show Sheila shares her amazing description of seeing an “Ancient One” as it cloaked and uncloaked in front of her.
What did she notice that most caught her attention? The eyes! And, the fog.
After listening to the show you decide if Bigfoot is a myth, imagination, or perhaps a Multi-dimensional Extraterrestrial, as some psychics have suggested. It might explain the lack of scientific evidence while begging more questions like, how does this ET phone home?
