You just found her. Hello! My name is Kathleen O’Keefe-Kanavos.

May I explain how and why I can help you? My first book was a Hybrid book (2014). It won three book awards, including the prestigious Nautilus Book Award, made the Amazon Bestseller list, and the Audio-Book was published by Blackstone Publishing, a conventional publisher.

My second book, Dreams That Can Save Your Life, was Conventionally Published and distributed by Findhorn/Inner Traditions/Simon & Schuster, became an Amazon #1 Bestseller the day of its release, was translated into Italian, and won the Nautilus Book Award. My unique book proposal resulted in a bidding war between three publishing companies and an incredible contract. The book, and the audio book, was published eight months later.

I have been working with Sacred Stories Publishing, (conventional and hybrid publishing) for the past two years. My current compilation book series, Sacred Stories of Transformational Change: Chaos to Clarity and, Sacred Stories of Transformational Joy: Crappy to Happy (soon to be released Oct. 2020) is co-authored with owner and publisher Rev. Patricia Cagganello. It became an Amazon #1, #2, and #3 Bestseller. And, for more than a year was in the top Amazon 100 books. A goal of these books is to promote the authors and give their work additional exposure.

Explanation of RATES FOR CONSULTING/Editorial SERVICES

I do not do Line or Copy Editing: But, for your information:

Line editing rates for manuscripts usually cost between $.04 and $.09 per word. Some copy editors charge by manuscript page, in the range of $5 to $15 per page.

A good average for full manuscript editorial services and rates is $.06 per word or $12 per page. An exception is Picture Books or poetry, @ $20 a page.

Although I do not do Line/Copy Editing, I can recommend copy editors used with my books and publishing projects.

Developmental/Content editing rates for your manuscript usually cost between $.05 and $.12 per word. Some developmental editors charge by manuscript page, in the range of $7.50 to $20 per page.

My Rate for Content/Developmental Editing is $.06 per word.

1,000 words = $60; 10,000 words = $600; 20,000 words = $1,200; 30,000 words = $1,800;  40,000 words =$2,400; 50,000 words =$3,000; 60,000 words =$3,600; 70,000 words =$4,200; 80,000=$4,800.

RATES FOR MANUSCRIPT EDITING SERVICES

Some rates depend on word count, and quoted word counts are examples. Submission Package Edit and 100-Page Edit investments are adjusted up or down depending on your particular needs. Full Manuscript Edit investments will adjust up or down depending on your particular manuscript length. My services also include one-on-one phone calls as needed with the author.
